Terms of Use
Last updated: October 28, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Actor’s Work LLC, an Arizona limited liability company (“Actor’s Work”, “we”, “us”), for using the Actor’s Work app and actorswork.app (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.
The short version
- You must be 18 or older.
- Only import scripts you have the right to use, such as sides you were sent for an audition. Your scripts and recordings stay yours.
- Pro and Studio are App Store subscriptions. They renew automatically until you cancel in your iPhone’s Settings; Apple handles billing and refunds.
- “Unlimited” imports have a fair-use limit, shown in the app.
- AI features can make mistakes. Check your script before you tape.
1. Who can use Actor’s Work
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. You confirm this when you create your account.
2. Your account
You can sign up with Apple, Google or an email address and password. Keep your sign-in details safe; you’re responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information and tell us at support@actorswork.app if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Account.
3. Your scripts and recordings
You own your content. Scripts, sides and photos you import, and self-tapes and comp cards you create (“Your Content”), remain yours or your licensors’. We don’t claim ownership of them.
You need the right to use it. Only import material you have the right to use for your own rehearsal and auditions, for example sides a casting office sent you, material you wrote, or material you have permission to use. You’re responsible for Your Content and for how you use and share your recordings.
What you allow us to do. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to process Your Content only as needed to run the features you use: for example, to send a script to our AI provider to be read, or to send lines to our voice provider to be read aloud. This permission ends when that processing is done. We don’t keep imported scripts on our servers, we don’t publish or share Your Content, and we don’t use it to train AI models.
Keep your own copies. Your Content is stored on your phone. If you remove the app, lose your phone or delete your account, it may be lost. Use the app’s backup and export features to keep copies.
4. Using the Service fairly
Please don’t:
- import or create content that infringes someone else’s rights, or that is unlawful, abusive or harmful;
- use the Service to build a library of others’ copyrighted works to distribute or sell;
- copy, reverse engineer, resell or interfere with the Service, or try to get around its limits or security;
- use automated tools to access the Service, or use it in a way that overloads it.
Fair use. Memberships that include “unlimited” script imports have a fair-use limit per month (currently 30 on Pro and 60 on Studio), shown in the app. Realistic reader voices have a monthly allowance that depends on your plan. Allowances reset on the first of each month and don’t carry over. If a limit is reached, the phone’s built-in voice keeps working. We may change allowances for future billing periods, and we’ll tell you in the app before a change affects you.
5. AI features
Script import uses AI to find characters and lines, and realistic reader voices are generated by AI. AI can make mistakes: it may misread a page, assign a line to the wrong character, or mispronounce a word. Check your script and edit it in the app before you rely on it for an audition. Some published material may not import because of our providers’ rules. AI voices are for rehearsal only; don’t use them to imitate a real person or to make content for distribution.
6. Memberships and payment
Actor’s Work is free to use, with optional paid memberships, Pro and Studio, offered as auto-renewing subscriptions. Monthly and yearly options are available. The plans screen in the app shows what each includes and its price in your currency before you buy.
- Billing. Subscriptions are bought through the Apple App Store and charged to your Apple ID. Apple’s terms of sale apply.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours before each renewal.
- Free trial. Where a free trial is offered, you won’t be charged until it ends. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, your paid subscription starts and you are charged. Apple allows one free trial per Apple ID for our memberships.
- Cancelling. Cancel anytime in your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or from Manage subscription in the app. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account doesn’t cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Apple handles all payments and refunds. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Changing plans. Upgrades from Pro to Studio take effect right away; Apple refunds the unused part of your old plan. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal.
- Your account. Your membership belongs to your Actor’s Work account, so it’s available when you sign in on another iPhone. Use Restore purchases if it doesn’t appear.
- Price changes. If we change a price, Apple will notify you as its rules require, and the new price applies from your next renewal.
7. Copyright complaints
We respect creators’ rights. If you believe something available through the Service infringes your copyright, email support@actorswork.app with: your contact details; a description of the work; where the material is; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your signature. Because Your Content is stored on your own phone, we usually can’t see or remove it, but we’ll respond to every notice and may suspend accounts that repeatedly infringe.
8. Our app and brand
The Service, its design and software, the Actor’s Work name and logo, and the example scripts we provide belong to Actor’s Work LLC or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own acting work under these terms. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
9. Other services
The Service relies on third-party services, such as Apple, Google, and the AI and voice providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Their terms may also apply. We’re not responsible for services we don’t control, and features that depend on them may change or stop if those services change.
10. Apple App Store terms
If you got the app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and Actor’s Work LLC, not Apple, and Actor’s Work, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any; to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Apple isn’t responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you aren’t located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or listed on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the Service. If we stop offering the Service entirely, we’ll give reasonable notice where we can. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers, limits on liability and governing law) continue after your use ends.
12. Disclaimers
We work hard to make Actor’s Work reliable, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI results will be accurate, or that using the app will lead to any casting result.
13. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Actor’s Work and its owners, employees and suppliers won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
14. Your responsibility to us
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover Actor’s Work for claims and costs arising from content you import or create, or from your breaking these terms or someone else’s rights.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us at support@actorswork.app so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that isn’t resolved will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer laws of the place where you live.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes. We’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
