Actor’s Work is built so your work stays yours. Your scripts, self-tapes, auditions and comp card live on your phone. Your account holds only what it needs to sign you in and run your membership.

The short version

1. Who we are

Actor’s Work is an app for actors, made by Actor’s Work LLC, an Arizona limited liability company (“Actor’s Work”, “we”, “us”). This policy covers the Actor’s Work iPhone app and the website actorswork.app.

2. What stays on your phone

These are stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage. We can’t see them:

If you make a backup, it’s a file you save and control. Signing out leaves this data on the phone; deleting your account erases it from the phone.

3. What we collect

InformationWhy
Email address, and the sign-in method you chose (Apple, Google or email and password)To create your account and sign you in. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email; we then receive a private relay address.
Name (optional)To greet you and fill in your comp card. Apple or Google may share it when you sign in with them.
Your 18+ confirmation and when you gave itActor’s Work is for adults only.
Your marketing email choice and when you set itSo we only send news if you’ve said yes. You can change it in Account.
Subscription status and purchase history (plan, dates, renewals, trial)To give you the features of your plan. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details.
Monthly usage counts: number of script imports and characters of realistic voice usedTo apply your plan’s monthly allowances. These are numbers only, never the script or the lines.
Technical information our servers receive with each request, such as IP address and timeTo run the service and keep it secure. Kept in short-lived server logs.

We don’t collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and the app has no analytics or advertising trackers.

4. How the features use your information

Importing a script

The file or photo you choose is sent to our server, which sends its text or page images to Anthropic’s Claude AI to find the characters and lines. The result comes back to your phone. Our server doesn’t store the script; its logs may note the character names it found. Anthropic processes the content to provide the service, under its commercial terms.

Realistic reader voices

To read other characters’ lines aloud, the text of those lines is sent to ElevenLabs, which returns audio. The audio is saved on your phone so the same lines don’t need to be made again. The phone’s built-in voice works without sending anything.

Listening for your cue

During rehearsal the app listens through your microphone to know when you’ve said your line. It uses Apple’s speech recognition: on the iPhone itself where your phone supports it, otherwise through Apple’s speech service. We don’t record or keep this audio.

Recording self-tapes

Your camera and microphone record to your phone. Recordings leave your phone only when you choose to share or export them.

Reminders

Audition reminders are scheduled on your phone. We don’t send push notifications from a server.

5. Services we use

We share information only with providers that help run Actor’s Work, and only what each needs:

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.

6. How we use information

We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don’t use your scripts or recordings to train AI models.

7. How long we keep it

8. Your choices and rights

9. Deleting your account

In the app, go to Account → Delete account. This deletes your account and the information linked to it on our servers, including your usage counts, and erases your scripts, self-tapes, auditions and profile from that phone. It can’t be undone.

Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it first in your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

10. Security

Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Account data is protected by access rules so each person can reach only their own. Secret keys are kept on our server, never in the app. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your phone protected.

11. Adults only

Actor’s Work is for people 18 and older. Everyone confirms they are 18 or over when they create an account. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.

12. Where information is processed

Actor’s Work is run from the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, they use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
